Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
1:24 a.m. Friday, June 28, North SR 13, south of East CR 800N, North Webster. Driver: Susan M. Nobles, 36, Railside Drive, Syracuse. Nobles told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:44 p.m. Thursday, June 27, North SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Brenda A. Cervantes-Sanchez, 26, Funk Street, Warsaw. Cervantes-Sanchez told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on SR 15 when her vehicle was struck by what she described as a boxy white van, which left the scene. Damage up to $2,500.
Officers from the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:48 p.m. Thursday, June 27, South Huntington Street, Syracuse. Driver: William T. Heiter, 55, South Whitlock Street, Bremen. Heiter told police he turned into a parking lot too sharply, causing the trailer he was hauling to strike a parked vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:45 p.m. Thursday, June 27, US 30, west of Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Kelly J. Coburn, 74, South Graceland Avenue, Claypool; Melissa S. Skinner, 39, South CR 900W, Pierceton. Coburn told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on US 30 and signaled to turn north onto CR 200N, and did not see the vehicle driven but Skinner, causing his vehicle to collide with the rear of the vehicle driven by Skinner. Damage up to $10,000.
2:06 p.m. Thursday, June 27, East Main Street and North Hickory Street, Warsaw. Driver: Jon A. Siesennop, 68, Hartzler Street, Warsaw. Siesennop told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on East Main Street and did not see a train approaching due to overgrowth of trees, he said the front of his vehicle was struck by the passing train. Damage up to $10,000.
10:12 a.m. Thursday, June 27, North SR 15 and Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Driver: Christi S. Davis, 41, East Ridge Valley Drive, Warsaw. Davis told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on North Detroit Street when her vehicle was struck from behind by a red semi tractor hauling a white enclosed box trailer. Davis said the driver, a tall, white, heavy-set male with a beard exited his vehicle, assessed the damage and then re-entered his vehicle and left the scene without speaking to her. Damage up to $10,000.
