Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
7:39 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 76 West CR 600N, Leesburg. Driver: Daniel Morrison, 66, Market Street, Warsaw. Officers responded to Phend and Brown for dump truck accident. Morrison was backing up a dump truck and struck another dump truck registered to the Elkhart County Highway Department. Damages up to $2,500.
6:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, West Hoffman Lake Road, west of North Grandview Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Tirean Blair, 37, Walnut Street, Etna Green; and Sean Whittaker, 19, Woodlawn Drive, Anderson. Blair was slowing down to make a stop when he saw a friend outside in the area. Blair told officers he checked his mirrors and began to back up his vehicle. Whittaker’s vehicle was behind Blair’s vehicle and was struck by Blair’s vehicle as he reversed. Damages up to $2,500.
7:18 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, East Old Road 30, east of South SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Mia Delacruz, 23, EMS R4H Lane, Pierceton. Delacruz’s vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.
7:16 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, East US 30, west of South CR 250E, Warsaw. Drivers: Julie Ferland, 32, Oak Street, Huntington; Laken Adams, 23, Turner Road, Claypool; and Jonathan Monsivais, Frazier Street, Warsaw. Adams and Monsivais had their vehicles stopped at a red light when Ferland’s vehicle rear-ended Adams’ vehicle, causing Adams’ vehicle to rear-end Monsivais’ vehicle. Damages up to $10,000.
8:51 p.m. Monday, June 17, South CR 400W, south of West Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw. Driver: Brittany Jones, 22, CR 900S, Claypool. Jones was driving her vehicle on CR 400W, trying to navigate between parked cars on either side of the roadway. Jones’ vehicle left the roadway, struck a fence post, crossed back over the roadway and ended up in a ditch. Damages up to $2,500.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
4:13 p.m. Saturday, June 15, East US 30, west of South SR 13, Pierceton. Drivers: Mark Sorce, 62, Marion Mount Glead Road, Caledonia, Ohio; and Alexander Ioannou, 36, Wade Road, Warsaw. Sorce told officers that he was in his lane of travel when Ioannou came into his lane of travel and struck his vehicle. Ioannou told officers that he was attempted to blow into his interlock device and when he looked up, it was too late to avoid the collision. Damages up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:13 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, Detroit Street, north of CR 300N, Warsaw. Driver: Meriss Geldner, 49, 17C Road, Tippecanoe. Geldner’s vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Damages up to $10,000.
3:44 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, SR 25 and Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Heather Rickert, 16, Laurelwood Drive, Warsaw; and Susan Fournier, 54, CR 100N, Akron. Rickert turned left onto Indiana Street but did not see Fournier’s vehicle traveling westbound on Indiana Street, causing a collision. Damages up to $5,000.
11:05 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, North Mckinley Street and East Main Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Eugene Coverston, 91, Pierceton Road, Pierceton; and James Barber, 41, Hummingbird Drive, Mentone. Coverstone was pulling out of a parking lot and told officers he did not see Barber’s vehicle, causing an accident. Damages up to $1,000.
