Local Teens Make Top 11 At 2019 Miss Indiana Pageant
KOSCIUSKO — NaevEnya Moore and Jordyn Leininger, two Pierceton teens representing Kosciusko County, placed in the top 11 of their age divisions in the 2019 Miss Indiana Pageant held in Zionsville Saturday, June 15.
According to Amy Miller, who has directed the Miss Kosciusko County Pageant event for the past 10 years, this was the first time ever that both girls on Team Kosciusko made the top 11. Moore and Leininger are Miss Kosciusko and Miss Kosciusko’s Outstanding Teen, respectively.
Moore is the daughter of Steve and Princene Moore. She is a recent graduate of Warsaw Community High School.
Moore competed against 35 other females ages 17-25 for the title of Miss Indiana 2019.
Leininger is the daughter of Thad and Rochelle Leininger. She recently completed 8th grade at Whitko Jr./Sr. High.
Leininger competed in a field of 28 contestants ages 13-17 for the title of Miss Indiana Outstanding Teen 2019.
Both girls made the top 11, which is comprised of the 10 candidates with the highest preliminary scores, as well as the candidate selected as People’s Choice.
Moore won a $250 scholarship from the Lions Club and a $1,000 scholarship from the Miss Indiana organization.
Leininger won a $250 scholarship and was selected by her peers for the Teen Hoosier Spirit Award, consisting of a $250 scholarship sponsored by Aren and Steve Straiger. She was also a finalist for the Teen Miracle Maker Award for raising $1,500 for the Children’s Miracle Network/Riley’s Hospital.
Miss Indiana 2019 is Tiarra Taylor of New Albany and Miss Indiana’s Outstanding Teen 2019 is Hadley Abram of Bloomington.
