Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:

2:22 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, SR 19, Nappanee. Driver: Isaac French, 27, Hill Street, Rochester. French was following a UPS truck on SR 19 and did not see that the UPS had its left turn signal on. French started to pass the UPS truck as the truck started to turn. French swerved to avoid hitting the truck. French’s vehicle went off the roadway, through a yard and struck a tree. Damage up to $10,000. 

North Webster

Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:

1:24 p.m. Thursday, June 13, Harrison Street, south of Washington Street, North Webster. Driver: Steven L. Dixon, 60, Humpty Dumpty Drive, Cromwell. Dixon was operating a street sweeper. A resident advised seeing the street sweeper go by and then noticed damage to her parked, unoccupied vehicle. Dixon said he was not aware that he struck the parked vehicle because the street sweeper is noisy and heavy. Damage up to $2,500. 

Warsaw

Officers with Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

2:38 p.m. Thursday, June 13, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: Abby M. Rucoi, 18, Walnut Creek Boulevard, Warsaw; and Pamela A. Brail, 61, EMS T26 Lane, Leesburg. Rucoi’s vehicle struck Brail’s vehicle when Rucoi was backing out of a parking space in the Walmart parking lot. Damage up to $2,500. 

1:27 p.m. Thursday, June 13, SR 25, Warsaw. Drivers: Phillip L. Owens, 38, North CR 1075E, Akron; and Donald S. Chapel, 74, US Highway 31, Rochester. Owens stated he was in the intersection waiting to turn left onto Buffalo Street. He advised he began to turn left and go around a semi that was stopped when his vehicle started sliding on the wet roadway. His vehicle struck the front bumper of Chapel’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

7:15 a.m. Monday, June 10, US 31 and Sixth Street. Driver: Joshua L. Robinson, 28, Romney. Robinson’s vehicle struck a deer.

5:01 a.m. Sunday, June 9, East Eighth Street, Rochester. Driver: Stacey D. Lopez, 47, Rochester. Lopez’s vehicle struck a deer.

9:45 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 6700 block South SR 25, Rochester. Shelley A. Molina Venegas, 35, Fulton. Venegas’ vehicle struck a deer.

10:35 p.m. Friday, June 7, SR 14 and CR 500W. Drivers: Dustin R. Kough, 25, Rochester, and Charlotte M. Allen, 52, Kewanna. Kough’s vehicle struck Allen’s vehicle.

9:21 p.m. Friday, June 7, SR 15 and CR 1100W. Driver: Timothy W. Burchill, 59, Elkhart. Burchill’s vehicle struck a deer.
