Gidieon Orion Cook
Gidieon Orion Cook, 8, Warsaw, was sadly taken from this earth and greeted into Heaven into the arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on Monday, June 10, 2019. He passed away from injuries sustained from being struck by a car in Warsaw.
He was born on Oct. 4, 2010 in Warsaw, to Keri Cook and Colton Cretcher.
Gidieon was known by his family and friends to be a sharp, smart little boy, and an endless explorer. He loved Legos, Pokemon, his dirt bike and spending endless hours on his tablet. He liked to play with his friends and sisters, and he especially loved spending time outdoors with his Dad. He wasn’t shy about being his “Momma’s boy.” Gidieon was the 2016 Cutie King at the North Webster Mermaid Festival, loved football, was a Young Tiger and was excited to be entering the third grade at Harrison Elementary School in Warsaw. He very much enjoyed going to church with his family at New Life Christian Church and World Outreach in Warsaw. He made a lasting and unforgettable impression on everyone he crossed paths with. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered as a beautiful boy with a beautiful soul. Although his life was very short, Gidieon brought joy to his family that will last forever.
He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Keri Cook, Warsaw; and his father and step-mother, Colton and Pam Cretcher, Warsaw; and his five sisters: Tempie Gardner, Daihya Chupp, Allison Cretcher, Kasiahh Chupp and Taylyn Siple. He leaves behind his maternal grandparents: Peggy Cook, North Webster; Franklin and Melissa Cook, Moycok, N.C.; paternal grandparents: Steven and Gale Cretcher, Warsaw; paternal great-grandparents: Lewis and Dorothy Wray, Bourbon; maternal great-grandparents: Karon Cook, Delphi; and Dwight and Donna Anthony, Marion. Also surviving is his Aunt Kelsey Caldwell and her kids, Warsaw; Uncle Clayton Cook, North Webster; and Uncle Casey Cretcher, Carmel. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Ralph Cook.
Visitation and Services will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, June 15, at New Life Christian Church and World Outreach, 744 S. 325 E., Warsaw. Gidieon’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service at 1 p.m. at New Life Christian Church and World Outreach and officiated by Pastor John B. Lowe. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and any flower arrangements may be sent directly to New Life Christian Church and World Outreach.
Friends and family are invited to a candlelight vigil that will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, at the crosswalk of North Pointe Drive and Husky Trail in front of Harrison Elementary School in Warsaw.
