Mary I. Mace
Mary I. Mace, 99, North Webster, passed away at 11 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on Feb. 12, 1920, in Antwerp, Ohio to Orbrie and Gay Etta (Reeb) Babcoke.
She graduated in 1938 from Central High School in Fort Wayne, and was married on Dec. 29, 1939, in Fort Wayne, to Kenneth R. “Ken” Mace who preceded her in Sept. 1998. She was a homemaker most of her life and occasionally worked at Cousins Jewelry Store in Fort Wayne. She lived most of her life in Fort Wayne before moving to Sebring, Fla. in 1999 and then to Kosciusko County in 2003 from Florida.
She is survived by two daughters: Sandra Wappes of North Webster and Nadine Robinson of Kendallville; seven grandchildren; 12 grat grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred “Millie” Wagner of Wisconsin
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters: Helen Evans, Connie Hosford, Joyce Shuler, Genoise Babcoke, and Zelpha Sarber; brother: Garold Babcoke and an infant brother.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
