Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
5:26 a.m. Monday, June 10, North CR 1000E, north of East CR 1100N, Cromwell. Driver: Preston J. Yoder, 29, County Road 35, Middlebury. Yoder was traveling north on North CR 1000E when his vehicle struck a tree laying in the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
12:13 p.m. Sunday, June 9, North CR 475E, near East Armstrong Road, Leesburg. Driver: unknown. A vehicle registered to Travis R. Green, Syracuse, was found partially in the roadway on CR 475E. It appeared the vehicle might have struck a tree. Damage up to $2,500.
1:22 a.m. Sunday, June 9, South Packerton Road, south of East CR 1200S, Claypool. Driver: Hayli N. Dennis, 32, West CR 700S, Claypool. Dennis was traveling north on South Packerton Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
4:46 p.m. Saturday, June 8, East CR 900S, west of South CR 700E, Sidney. Driver: William R. Elliott, 51, East CR 800S, Claypool. Elliott was traveling west on East CR 900S when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
2:38 p.m. Saturday, June 8, West CR 600S, south of South County Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Janelle A. Beaver, 65, East Ireland Drive, North Manchester. Beaver was traveling north on County Farm Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
12:10 p.m. Saturday, June 8, South CR 150W, south of West US 30, Warsaw. Driver: Brandon I. Rodriguez, 25, Lakeview Boulevard, Warsaw. Rodriguez was traveling south on CR 150W when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
12:09 p.m. Saturday, June 8, West CR 700S, east of South CR 1300W, Akron. Driver: Lon Slone, 72, West CR 800S, Claypool. Slone was traveling west on CR 700S when his vehicle went off the roadway, striking a fence and fence wire as well as a REMC utility pole. Damage up to $25,000.
10:36 a.m. Saturday, June 8, West CR 200S, east of South Old SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Melissa S. Craig, 44, Country Club Road, Warsaw; and John M. Lacheta, 50, West Briarridge Road, Warsaw. Craig was backing her vehicle when she backed into Lacheta’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
6:11 p.m. Friday, June 7, South CR 275E, near East Pierceton Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Nicole R. Grimmett, 36, South CR 300E, Claypool; and Zachary L. Puckett, 37, Frontage Road 66, Warsaw. Grimmett was traveling north on South CR 275E when she rear-ended Puckett’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
5:08 p.m. Friday, June 7, North CR 175E, south of Prosperity Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Barbrar L. Wampler, 72, North CR 175E, Warsaw; and Holden E. Ihnen, 21, Country Club Drive, Warsaw. Wampler’s vehicle was stopped at a stop sign when she pulled out in front of Ihnen’s vehicle. This caused Wampler’s vehicle to strike the passenger side of Ihnen’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
2:47 p.m. Friday, June 7, East CR 500N, north of North CR 850E, North Webster. Drivers: James R. Close, 73, East Huntington Street, North Webster; and Herbert T. Donatelli, 76, Caton Corner, Plainfield, Ill. Close was traveling north on CR 850E when he struck Donatelli’s vehicle. Close complained of chest pain and was transported to Parkview for further evaluation. Damage up to $10,000.
2:37 p.m. Friday, June 7, West CR 300N, west of Mile Marker #North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Kayle N. Long, 16, North CR 350W, Warsaw. Long was traveling west on CR 300N when her vehicle left the roadway, striking a mailbox and utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
11:50 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 6101 N. CR 300E, Warsaw. Driver: Ned W. Taylor, 66, North CR 100E, Milford. Taylor was traveling south on CR 300E when a trailer attached to his vehicle unhooked. This resulted in the trailer traveling across a yard and colliding with an unoccupied vehicle registered to Galen D. Sopher, Leesburg. Damage up to $10,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:36 a.m. Saturday, June 8, East US 30, east of South SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Kristen D. Sommers, 32, North CR 900E, Pierceton. Sommers was traveling east on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
11:32 p.m. Saturday, June 8, North CR 1000E, east of East CR 1250N, Syracuse. Driver: Jose I. Ramirez Moreno, 23, North CR 900W Lot 149, Cromwell. Ramirez Moreno was traveling west on East CR 1000N when his vehicle left the roadway. Damage up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 9, SR 15, north of West CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: Melvin L. Kemp, 62, East Woodview Drive, Nappanee; and Todd M. Richmond, 53, Prairie Lane, Nappanee. Kemp was traveling south on SR 15 when he rear-ended Richmond’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:14 p.m. Friday, June 7, 1200 Meijer Drive, near US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Alexandra K. Koontz, 19, Deer Trail, Warsaw; and Kara R. Casey, 36, Rivulet Run, Fort Wayne. Koontz’s vehicle was stopped at Meijer Drive and US 300 when she rear-ended Casey’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
7:05 p.m. Friday, June 7, US 30, west of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Luke J. Adamiec, 17, South Kinsey Road, Claypool; and Aaron J. Jesel, 26, Kings Court, Winona Lake. Adamiec was traveling west on US 30 when he rear-ended Jesel’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
6:42 p.m. Friday, June 7, Anchorage Road, west of US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Kurt A. Brown, 63, Cranford Court, Granger; and Arron R. Frederickson, 38, St. Augustines Drive, Warsaw. Brown was traveling through the Meijer parking lot when he entered the oncoming lane of eastbound traffic on Anchorage Road. This caused Brown’s vehicle to strike Frederickson’s head-on. A passenger in Frederickson’s vehicle, Adrian Frederickson, 10, Warsaw, complained of neck pain and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital by ambulance. Damage up to $25,000.
6:06 p.m. Friday, June 7, West US 30, near East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: Zarko Boric, 44, Maple Avenue, Brookfield, Ill.; and Gaurav R. Mahajan, 26, Summit Avenue 274, Arlington, Tex. Boric was traveling west on West US 30 when he failed to stop his vehicle for a traffic control signal. Mahajan was stopped on East CR 200N and intended to cross West US 30 onto Anchorage Road from the north side of the intersection. When the traffic light he was facing turned green, Mahajan proceeded into the intersection. Boric’s vehicle struck the front left of Mahajan’s, causing Mahajan’s vehicle to spin and strike Boric’s vehicle again while spinning. Both drivers and a passenger in Mahajan’s vehicle sustained no injuries in the accident. Damage up to $50,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:11 p.m. Sunday, June 9, Ranch Road, near Salman Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Wakelyn M. Volkers Hudson, 17, Park Avenue, Winona Lake; and Janice A. Rose, 79, East 2nd Street Extension, North Manchester. Volkers Hudson was preparing to turn left at the intersection of Salman Drive and Ranch Road when she struck Rose’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
4:51 p.m. Saturday, June 8, Wooster Road, south of South CR 250E, Winona Lake. Driver: Deborah J. Finken, 67, South First Street, Pierceton. A bicyclist, Rick A. Frantz, 55, Winona Lake, was traveling west on Wooster Road when he disregarded a stop sign and rode his bicycle into the path of Finken’s vehicle. Frantz sustained a minor head injury as a result of the accident but refused transport to the hospital. Damage under $750.
