Bell Memorial Public Library Announces Upcoming Events
MENTONE — Bell Memorial Public Library will be closed on Sundays beginning on June 2. The library will remain closed on Sundays during the summer and re-open after Labor Day.
The library is having a book sale in the main lobby. Prices are 25 cents for hardbacks, or five for $1; 10 cents for paperbacks, including trade paperbacks; 50 cents for audiobooks; 25 cents for music CDs; and DVDs as marked, as some are $1 and some are $3.
Bell Memorial Public Library’s 2019 Summer Reading Program is currently underway and there’s still time to sign up. This year’s theme is “A Universe of Stories.” The library’s program will run until July 12 and has programs for all age groups. There will also be prizes awarded for each age group. Activities planned are family movies on Wednesdays, crafts on Thursdays for both kids and teens/young adults. However, some teen crafts are planned for Tuesdays. Sign-up is requested for participation in craft activities.
Parents, bring the little ones to the library for a kids’ craft. Kids can make a space mobile beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6. Teens can also meet at the same day and time to make a “tiny planet” using a tea light candle, some paint and a ping pong ball.
Join the library at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 10 for Movie Monday. The feature film is “Glass Bottom Boat.” Popcorn and a beverage will be provided.
Are you new to Hoopla Digital? Look for recently added titles such as “The Printed Letter Bookshop” by Katherine Reay, “We Are the Gardeners” by Joanna Gaines and “Why We Fight” by T.J. Klune. Kids’ titles include “Diary of an Awesome, Friendly Kid” by Jeff Kinney and “5 Minute Disney Pixar Stories” by Disney Book Club.
