Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
5:19 a.m. Friday, June 7, West SR 14, west of South CR 100W, Silver Lake. Driver: Tonya S. Wall, 48, Cottonwood Drive, New Haven. Wall told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on SR 14 when a deer ran into the side of her vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
2:03 a.m. Friday, June 7, South SR 13, north of East Old Road 30, Pierceton. Driver: Kenneth Ellenberger, 58, East CR 1000S, Claypool. Ellenberger told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he swerved to avoid the deer, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a fence. Damage up to $5,000.
9:35 p.m. Thursday, June 6, South Packerton Road, south of East CR 400S, Warsaw. Driver: Philip B. Fiorucci, 23, West CR 800S, Claypool. Fiorucci told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on Packerton Road when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
4:27 p.m. Thursday, June 6, East US 30 and South CR 325E, Warsaw. Drivers: Tanner K. Hampton, 23, Thompson Street, Bourbon; Arthur L. Haas, 74, East Ken Way Drive, Warsaw. Police said both drivers were stopped at an intersection and that both drivers waved to each other to proceed. Police said both drivers proceeded at the same time, causing their vehicles to collide in the intersection. Damage up to $10,000.
3:29 p.m. Thursday, June 6, East US 30, east of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Erika N. Nunn, 31, South 153rd Street, Omaha, Neb. Nunn told police she was driving her vehicle westbound on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
4:11 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, South SR 13, south of South SR 13, Pierceton. Drivers: Kyle A. Reed, 16, West Old Trail Road, Pierceton; Earl Ritchie, 59, Outback Drive, Vest, Ky. Police reported that Reed was in his vehicle and stopped at a stop sign at Ryerson Road and SR 13, facing eastbound. Ritchie was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 13 when Reed began to pull into the path of Ritchie’s vehicle, causing Ritchie to swerve and lose control of his vehicle. Ritchie’s vehicle came to rest in a small creek. The two vehicles never made contact. Damage up to $5,000.
1:53 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, North SR 13 and North Nash Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Chandler S. Strickler, 23, North CR 225E, Warsaw. Strickler told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
6:14 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, East Old Road 30, west of North CR 600E, Pierceton. Driver: John M. Powell, 46, East Wesley Lane, North Webster. Powell told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
10:30 p.m. Monday, June 3, East CR 200N, west of North CR 175E, Warsaw. Driver: Javier Temozihui, 24, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Temozihui told police he was driving his vehicle southbound in Green Acres Mobile Home Park and became stuck in a ditch. Damage up to $2,500.
4:24 p.m. Monday, June 3, North CR 175, north of East CR 75N, Warsaw. Drivers: Redid Velazquez, 43, East Wooster Road, Pierceton; Sheena L. Norris, East Evergreen Drive, Warsaw. Norris told police that while she was driving her vehicle northbound on CR 175E, the vehicle driven by Velazquez crossed the center line and struck her vehicle head-on. Norris was not injured in the crash, but Velazquez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner. Blood samples were taken from both drivers and results are pending. Damage up to $100,000.
7:30 a.m. Monday, June 3, SR 19, north of West CR 100S, Etna Green. Driver: Brian T. Streeter, 31, Shore Manor Drive, Bristol. Police reported that Streeter was involved in a crash while driving northbound on SR 19 and that he was not licensed and left the scene. Police reported that the accident was caused when Streeter encountered a deer and lost control of his vehicle. Streeter was charged with operating while never licensed. Damage was done to several fence posts on the property where the accident occurred. Damage up to $25,000.
6 a.m. Monday, June 3, North CR 200W, south of West CR 600N, Warsaw. Driver: Timothy L. Crosby, 70, East CR 100N, Akron. Crosby told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on CR 200W when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
3:37 p.m. Sunday, June 2, North CR 200E, Warsaw. Driver: Pradyumna Reddy, 26, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw. A witness at the scene told police that Reddy was doing doughnuts in the parking lot of the Tippy Creek Winery and that Reddy’s vehicle struck a female pedestrian, Eesha Ghattamaneni, 26, Churchill Downs Drive, Warsaw, who was videotaping the stunt. Ghattamaneni was examined at the scene by Lutheran EMS and refused transport to the hospital, stating that she would have Reddy drive her to the emergency room. Damage up to $1,000.

Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:36 a.m. Friday, June 7, East Winona Avenue and South Bronson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Joshua R. Mort, 22, West Tower Street, Pierceton; Linda L. Jones, 77, South CR 875W, Claypool. Mort told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on East Winona Avenue when the light turned yellow. He said he thought Jones was going to stop for the yellow light and proceeded into the intersection and turned left, into the path of Jones’ vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
3:05 a.m. Friday, June 7, Lake City Highway, east of Meijer Driver: Nathan M. Pugh, 27, South Harrison Street, Warsaw. Pugh told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on Lake City Highway when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
2:20 p.m. Thursday, June 6, SR 25 and Logan Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Caleb J. Bridgewater, 27, North Tucker Street, Mentone; Steve W. Nine, 62, West CR 150S, Warsaw. Bridgewater told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on SR 25 and had closed his eyes briefly. He said when he opened his eyes, the vehicle driven by Nine had stopped and that he did not have enough time to stop his vehicle and avoid a rear-end collision. Damage up to $10,000.

7:31 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 5600 block East CR 400N, Rochester. Driver: Paige D. Parker, 23, Rochester. Parker’s vehicle hit a deer.
7:14 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, CR 450N and Old 31. Driver: Anna M. Roe, 64, Rochester. Roe’s vehicle hit a deer.
5:59 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, Old 31 north of CR 300S. Driver: Patricia J. Wilkins, 48, Macy. Wilkins’ vehicle hit a deer.
