WARSAW — Chief Scott D. Whitaker announced Detective Sergeant Bradley J. Kellar as the department’s new Public Information Officer.
Kellar is a veteran officer, having served over 20 years in law enforcement. In addition to Kellar’s responsibilities as a member of the Warsaw Police Department Detective Division, he will be responsible for providing information and press releases to the public and area news agencies. Kellar received a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Grace College and is a 1999 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He is a certified taser instructor as well as an instructor for defensive tactics, S.T.O.P.S., and mechanical and ballistic breaching. Additionally, Detective Sergeant Kellar is a certified police motorcycle operator and a member of WPD’s Emergency Response Team, Clandestine Lab Clean-Up Team, and is involved in criminal interdiction enforcement. Detective Sergeant Kellar is a board member for the National Criminal Enforcement Association.
“WPD’s administrative staff is excited to work with Detective Sergeant Kellar in his new capacity,” said Whitaker. “He has proven to be knowledgeable and dedicated to his profession. We expect he will be equally dedicated to this assignment, which brings additional responsibilities to his current position. He will work with local media outlets in an effort to get information out to the public in a timely manner. He is also being tasked with strengthening our effort to get information out to the community directly, either through the city of Warsaw’s website or social media.”
