UPDATE: Two-Car Collision At Armstrong And CR 200E
LEESBURG — Minor injuries were sustained by the two drivers involved in a collision at 3:03 p.m. Thursday, May 30. The accident was on East Armstrong Road at North CR 200E, east of Leesburg.
Abraham E. Gordillo, 50, West CR 250S, Warsaw, driver of a 2016 Volkswagon GTI, complained of chest pain. Christopher R. Lackey, 25, North Long Ridge Drive, Columbia City, driver of a 2013 Ford Escape, complained of knee/lower leg pain. Both drivers ere transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Investigating officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office report Gordillo was traveling westbound on Armstrong Road and attempted to turn south onto North CR 200E, turning into the path of Lackey’s eastbound vehicle. Lackey and a witness stated Gordillo made the turn, into the path of Lackey’s vehicle, at the last minute.
Gordillo was cited for driving while suspended causing injury.
Damage was estimated up to $25,000.
Leesburg Fire Department, Lutheran and North Webster EMS assisted the sheriff’s office in the crash.
