Helen Dzuba
Helen Dzuba, 97, Warsaw, passed away at 1:40 p.m., June 1, 2019, in Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake. She was born on March 8, 1922, in Warsaw to Logan and Esta (Fawley) VanDoran.
She was a lifetime resident of Warsaw. On July 18, 1942, she was united in marriage to Steve Dzuba in Janesville, Wisc.; where Steve was stationed for his Glider Pilot Training for the United States Army Air Corps. During her life Helen worked as a hairdresser and was attending Beauty School when she met her husband. She also worked as a secretary for Zolman Insurance and as a retail specialist at Sears. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw; where she was one of the eldest attending members. She was also a member of the Rosary Alter Society for 65 years, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 55 years, and was an organist at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 15 years.
She is survived by her children; John Dzuba of Tucson, Ariz.; Nancy (Rob) Gast of Warsaw; Tom (Penny) Dzuba of Deltona, Fla.; Lori (Greg) Slater of Warsaw; grandchildren; Cari (Gast) Kline of Zionsville; Tina (Dzuba) Coleman of Sanford, Fla.; Tracey Dzuba of Deltona, Fla.; Tanna (Dzuba) Oliver of Deltona, Fla.; Missy (Dzuba) Kahl of Lawrenceville, Ga.; Lisa (Dzuba) Nolte of Savannah, Ga.; Rachael (Slater) Messmore of Warsaw; 13 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Steve Dzuba, one grandchild; Robbie Gast and a daughter-in-law; Mary Dzuba.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, June 6, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 7, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. Father Jonathan Norton will officiate. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
