Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
10:09 p.m. Sunday, June 2, North SR 15, north of West CR 1000N, Milford. Driver: Heather E. Miller, 31, South Henry Street, Milford. Miller told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
11:23 a.m. Sunday, June 2, North CR 800W, north of West CR 400N, Warsaw. Driver: Amanda L. Erbst, 29, West CR 100S, Warsaw. Erbst told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on CR 800W when she lost control of her vehicle due to poor road conditions, causing her vehicle to slide sideways and roll over onto its top in the roadway. Damage up to $25,000.
5:38 a.m. Sunday, June 2, North Old SR 15, south of East CR 575N, Warsaw. Driver: Pamela J. Wright, 57, East CR 575N, Leesburg. Wright told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on Old SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
9:55 p.m. Saturday, June 1, South County Farm Road, south of West CR 300S, Warsaw. Driver: Sarah N. Huffman, 51, West CR 600S, Claypool. Huffman told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on County Farm Road when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
8:49 p.m. Friday, May 31, North Barbee Road, north of EMS B64 Lane, Warsaw. Theo R. Timmerman, East McKenna Road, Warsaw, told police his parked vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:55 a.m. Friday, May 31, EMS B3 Lane, south of East CR 400N, Warsaw. Driver: Abigail L. Signorelli, 27, EMS B3A Lane, Leesburg. Signorelli told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on EMS B3 Lane and was looking down at her phone, causing her vehicle to leave the roadway and hit a ditch. Damage up to $10,000.
11:23 p.m. Thursday, May 30, West Crystal Lake Road, east of South CR 500W, Warsaw. Driver: Ryan L. Truex-Volitch, 28, Beach Road, Nappanee. Truex-Volitch told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on Crystal Lake Road and told police he swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting an animal in the road. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned several times, coming to rest in a field. Truex-Volitch complained of shoulder pain and was transported by ambulance Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
10:11 p.m. Thursday, May 30, South SR 15 and West Union Street, Warsaw. Driver: Devin H. Baker, 32, East Portside Drive, Warsaw. Baker told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
5:34 p.m. Thursday, May 30, South SR 25, north of South Mill Road, Mentone. Driver: Rhonda S. Perkins, 60, West Blanchard Street, Warsaw. Perkins told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on SR 25 when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Milford
Officers from the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:59 p.m. Friday, May 31, North CR 200E, Milford. An unidentified motorist told police his vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle while it was parked in the Maple Leaf Farms parking lot. Damage up to $5,000.
North Webster
Officers from the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:03 p.m. Saturday, June 1, West Huntington Street, east of South Harrison Street, North Webster. Driver: Kori B. Jasper, 33, EMS T2 Lane, North Webster. Jasper told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on West Huntington Street when a tree limb fell on her vehicle, damaging her vehicle’s windshield. Damage less than $750.
Syracuse
Officers from the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:52 p.m. Saturday, June 1, South Huntington Street, north of East Palm Drive, Syracuse. Drivers: Alyssah R. Griffith, 17, Franklin Street, Goshen; Tami Eder, 52, North Walnut Way, Marion. Griffith told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on South Huntington Street and said she was preparing to turn left onto East Palm Drive and thought there was a left turn lane, causing her to pull into the path of Eder’s vehicle and cause a head-on collision. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:56 p.m. Sunday, June 2, East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dillon C. Nusbaum, 24, East Market Street, Warsaw; Betty K. Hudson, 73, North Beechwood Street, Warsaw. Nusbaum told police he was backing out of a parking space and did not see the vehicle driven by Hudson, causing the collision. Damage up to $5,000.
6:01 p.m. Saturday, June 1, East US 30, west of Springhill Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Bryan Pettiford, 41, Rockhill Road, Columbus, Ohio; Emmanuel R. Alicea, 28, Stonewall Court, Nappanee. Pettiford said he was driving his semi tractor easbound on US 30 and said he did not see Alicea on a scooter. Pettiford’s vehicle struck Alicea’s vehicle, causing it to catch fire. Alicea said he attempted to stop, but his vehicle drifted off the roadway and he jumped from the scooter. Pettiford used a fire extinguisher to put out the scooter fire. Alicia complained of neck and back pain and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $2,500.
3:50 p.m. Friday, May 31, SR 15, north of West CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Peggy J. Sheler, 74, East CR 700N, Leesburg; Russ A. Kann, 73, EMS T48 Lane, Syracuse; Fawn N. Baughman, 23, West CR 750N, Larwill. Sheler told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on SR 15 and that she was approaching the intersection with CR 300N when she blacked out. She said her vehicle rear-ended the vehicle driven by Kann, which in turn rear-ended the vehicle driven by Baughman. Sheler was examined by EMS at the scene, but refused transport to the hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
Winona Lake
Officers from the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:04 p.m. Friday, May 31, South CR 250E, north of Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Drivers: Suzanne M. Light, 67, East Masters Lane, Warsaw; Colton W. Andrews, 21, East Pierceton Road, Warsaw. Andrews told police he was driving his vehicle northbound behind the vehicle driven by Light and was distracted by motorcycles parked along the road and could not stop his vehicle in time before it collided with the rear of Light’s vehicle, which was stopped in preparation to turn into a parking lot. Damage up to $2,500.
