UPDATE — Driver Transported To Hospital After Vehicle Strikes Train Car

A man was transported to the hospital after his vehicle struck a train box car on Sunday, May 26.
LEESBURG — A man was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital after his vehicle struck a train car.
At approximately 11:01 a.m. Sunday, May 26, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle accident on North Old Road 15, south of East CR 575N, Leesburg.
The crash involved a 2016 black Hyundai Veloster, operated by Cliffton W. Davis, 41, North Old Road 15 218, Warsaw.
Davis was traveling north on Old SR 15 when his vehicle left the east side of the roadway and overcorrected. As his vehicle continued off the roadway, Davis’ vehicle struck a parked train box car owned by Norfolk & Southern. This caused damage to the box car ladder as well as other mechanical parts of the train.
Davis sustained injuries to his left knee and left hand and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment.
Damages are estimated at up to $50,000.
