2019 Cutie Contest Winners Crowned at Milford Fest
MILFORD — Milford crowned its 2019 cuties during an event on the Main Street stage at Milford Fest, an all-day carnival, car show and street dance held May 25.
This year’s Cutie Contest, sponsored by Milford Lions Club, had a total of 21 entrants for two age groups, ages 2-3 and 4-5, vying for prince and princess, or, in the 4-5 group, king and queen. The judges named Destiny Lanning Princess and Ayden Warren Prince among the 2-3 year olds; Payton Scheeren was named Queen and Henry Linville King among the 4-5 year olds.
“It went great. The kids were awesome,” exclaimed Cami Mechling, who served as emcee and moderator, prompting the field of contestants with questions such as “what do you want to be when you grow up?” This year’s cuties aspired to be doctors, dancers, firefighters and police officers among other professions.
The royal cutie couples will also ride in the Milford Memorial Day Parade at 10 a.m., May 27, along with the Senior King and Queen, Bob and Sue Cockburn, who were crowned later in the day.
