WARSAW — The official accident report has been released following the rollover accident on SR 15 last Friday, May 17.

Emergency responders were dispatched to North SR 15, north of West CR 400N, Warsaw, at 7:28 p.m. Upon arrival, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office noticed a male, later identified as Dustin E. Pruitt, 28, North High Street, Silver Lake, laying on an overturned vehicle. Pruitt was the driver of the overturned vehicle and the vehicle’s only occupant.

The officer spoke with a witness who was traveling behind Pruitt’s vehicle. The witness advised that Pruitt’s vehicle left the roadway, overcorrected and crossed into the northbound lane. The witness observed Priutt’s vehicle leave the east side of the roadway sideways, hitting an embankment. The vehicle began to roll and come to rest on its roof.

Pruitt was transported by Lutheran Air helicopter to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne due to a severe head injury sustained as a result of the accident.

Damage from the accident was estimated at up to $10,000.
