Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
2:08 p.m. Thursday, May 23, East US 30, east of South CR 900E, Pierceton. Driver: Jimmy W. May, 64, West US Highway 30, Columbia City. May was traveling east on US 30 when his vehicle suddenly pulled to the right, causing his vehicle to strike the end of a guardrail and travel down the face of the guardrail. Damage up to $10,000.
11:15 a.m. Thursday, May 23, North CR 300E, south of East Armstrong Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Grant M. Bibler, 18, Trailside Drive, Winona Lake; and Theodore J. Nine, 50, North Sawgrass Lane, Leesburg. Nine was stopping his vehicle due to vehicles in front of him stopping for the stop sign on CR 300E when Bibler rear-ended his vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
5:14 a.m. Thursday, May 23, South SR 25, north of West Palestine 3rd Street, Mentone. Driver: Alan R. Stackhouse, 51, West CR 700S, Claypool. Stackhouse was traveling north on South SR 25 when a tree fell on his vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:28 p.m. Friday, May 17, North SR 15, north of West CR 400N, Warsaw. Driver: Dustin E. Pruitt, 28, North High Street 3, Silver Lake. Pruitt’s vehicle left the roadway on the right side, causing his vehicle to overcorrect and cross the northbound lane of traffic. Pruitt’s vehicle then struck an embankment and began to roll, coming to rest on the vehicle’s roof. Pruitt was transported by Lutheran Air helicopter to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne due to a severe head injury sustained as a result of the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:13 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 315 N. Detroit St., Warsaw. Drivers: Elbert E. Sammons, 73, South CR 350E, Warsaw; and Cassandra N. Ibarra, 19, Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Sammons was backing his vehicle into a parking lot when he backed into Ibarra’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
6:37 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 56 E. Bell Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Bradley A. Himes, 28, North Oakwood Drive, Warsaw; and Jason C. Oldham, 47, East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Himes was backing his vehicle from a parking spot when he struck Oldham’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
11:27 a.m. Thursday, May 23, Kings Highway, near School Street, Winona Lake. Drivers: Cheri L. Doss, 50, East CR 350S, Pierceton; and Allison J. Redding, 41, East Pink Magnolia Drive, Winona Lake. Redding was stopped by a flagman for a truck entering the street when Doss’s vehicle rear-ended hers. Redding complained of chest pain and was transported to the hospital. Damage up to $5,000.
Fulton
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
1:32 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, SR 25 and US 31. Driver: Richard F. Ford, 73, Granger. Ford’s vehicle went off the roadway.
