Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
7:13 a.m. Thursday, May 23, South Packerton Road, south of East CR 700S, Warsaw. Driver: Louis W. Brown, 62, South CR 400E, Pierceton. Brown was traveling south on South Packerton Road when a tree started to fall into the roadway. Brown’s vehicle struck the tree. Damage up to$10,000.
6:37 a.m. Thursday, May 23, South SR 19, north of West CR 600S, Mentone. Driver: Charles E. Howard, 74, North CR 700W, Nappanee. Howard was traveling through debris on the roadway when a metal line in the debris took a mirror off of his vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
5:02 a.m. Thursday, May 23, South CR 900W, north of SR 25, Mentone. Driver: Isidro M. Flores, 61, West Monoquet Road, Warsaw. Flores was traveling south on South CR 900W when his vehicle struck a fallen tree in the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
8:01 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, North CR 1100W, east of West CR 900N, Nappanee. Drivers: Lyndale O. Schmucker, 37, West CR 275S 57, Larwill; and Melidna K. Chupp, 52, East Camp Mack Road, Milford. Schmucker was traveling north on CR 1100W when he disregarded a stop sign and struck the passenger side of Chupp’s vehicle. Chupp’s vehicle overturned multiple times before coming to a rest on its tires in a field. Schmucker complained of back pain and Chupp sustained back injuries. Damage up to $25,000.
4:53 p.m. Friday, May 17, East CR 800S, near South CR 700E, Warsaw. Driver: Greggory A. Hurd, 22, West Buffalo Street, South Whitley. Hurd was traveling west on CR 800S when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
11:44 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, Bowser Road, south of CR 1200N, Milford. Driver: Lila D. Gregory, 17, EMS D22 Lane, Syracuse. Gregory was traveling south on Bower Road when a deer entered the roadway. This caused Gregory’s vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree. Damage up to $10,000.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:49 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, US 30 and East CR 200S, Pierceton. Driver: Joann M. Buchan, 35, North Lighthouse Drive, Warsaw. Buchan was traveling east on US 30 when an unknown vehicle rear-ended her. The vehicle fled the scene and was not located. Damage up to $10,000.
4:04 p.m. Monday, May 20, South First Street, near Mile Marker #South First Street, Pierceton. Driver: Margaret Kangeri, 28, North Parker Street 13, Warsaw. Kangeri was traveling south on South First Street when her vehicle swerved to the right, quickly making a hard jerk to the left and accelerating at a high rate of speed. Kangeri’s vehicle struck a large tree. Kangeri was unresponsive at the scene and was transported by Parkview Hospital’s air ambulance to Fort Wayne. Kangeri told officers that she believes that she had a seizure that rendered her unconscious prior to the crash. Kangeri sustained injury to her knee, lower leg and foot area as a result of the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
9:38 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, SR 15, near East Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Lance C. Slone, 18, East Main Street, Warsaw; and Ryker D. Fritzel, 17, West Baker Street, Warsaw. Slone was traveling west on East Prairie Street when his vehicle impacted Fritzel’s head-on. Slone complained of hip and upper leg pain as a result of the accident. A passenger in Slone’s vehicle, Victoria Steinke, 16, Pierceton, sustained a chest abrasion. A passenger in Fritzel’s vehicle, Kaitlynn J. Gordon, 16, Warsaw, sustained a face abrasion. All occupants of both vehicles refused medical treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
12:57 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, North SR 15, near East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Christian Moyotl, 19, North CR 175E 137, Warsaw; and Sharon R. Swartz, 72, Jackson Street, Atwood. Moyotl was traveling south on North Detroit Street when he struck Swartz’s vehicle. Swartz was traveling east on East Center Street at the time of the accident. Swartz complained of left arm pain and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital by paramedics. Damage up to $25,000.
12:51 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 1109 Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Joel A. Perez Perez, 56, Kuder Lane, Warsaw; and Tirth S. Upadhyay, 26, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Perez was driving across a parking lot when he briefly looked down and away from the roadway. When he looked up, he didn’t have time to react and stop before rear-ending Upadhyay’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
12:41 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 1200 Meijer Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Roxanne Williams, 68, EMS C28B Lane, Warsaw; and Penni F. Harley, 56, North CR 550E, Rochester. Williams was attempting to turn right out of a parking lot when she struck the passenger side of Harley’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
