Lowell Dean Culp
Lowell Dean Culp, 81, Syracuse, passed away at 11:13 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, Fla. He was born on Oct. 22, 1937, in Goshen, to Mervin C. and Lois (Kester) Culp.
He attended Goshen High School, was a United States Army veteran, and was married on Feb. 14, 1987, in Elkhart, to Patricia F. “Pat” (Snoreck) Kampf, who survives. He was the former owner and operator of Culp Welding in New Paris for 35 years and formerly worked at Land O’ Goshen as a maintenance supervisor, Pine Manor in Goshen, and Goshen Rubber Company. He lived in New Paris / Goshen for many years before moving to Syracuse (Dewart Lake) in 1987 and wintered in Florida for many years.
He was a life member of the American Legion & member of the Moose Lodge both in Goshen. He was a former volunteer fireman and certified trainer for the New Paris Fire Dept. for 17 years and helped start the New Paris Cub Scouts Pack.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Culp, Syracuse; two sons: Frank (Karen) Culp, Logansport; Ron (Jerri) Culp, Goshen; step-daughter: Dawn (Greg) Bramwell, Anderson; step-daughter: Dawn (Greg) Bramwell, Anderson; step-son: James Eden, New York City, N.Y.’ four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary (Stan) Huber and Sally (Junior) Troyer, both of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Brad Culp, four sisters: Louise, Patty, Joan, and Alice.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, in the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw.
