Local Memorial Day Ceremonies
The following is a list of Memorial Day weekend events happening in and around Kosciusko County:
Etna Green
- The Etna Green Church of Christ will be hosting memorial services starting at the church at 10 a.m. and ending with services at 11:30 a.m. at East Cemetery on Monday, May 27.
Leesburg

A parade begins at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 27. There will be a flag-raising ceremony by the Boy Scouts before the parade at town hall. The parade will proceed from town hall south on Pearl Street then west on Prairie Street to Leesburg Cemetery; the memorial service will follow the parade. All veterans wishing to ride in the parade, as well as other participants, should be at town hall by 10:15 a.m. In case of rain, the memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Leesburg Lions Club Building.
Mentone

The Mentone Chamber of Commerce and the Bell Aircraft Museum will be presenting a Memorial Day Service in the Mentone Cemetery on Sunday, May 26, at 2 p.m. All living veterans will be encouraged to attend, as well as the general public. The program will be held in the Baptist Activity Center, in case of rain. The service will be followed with a reception following at the Bell Museum, everyone is welcome.
Milford

The line up for the parade is at 9 a.m. and the parade starts at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27; sign up is not necessary but participants can do so at Milford Town Hall or at milfordfest.org. A ceremony is afterward at Milford Cemetery.
North Webster

A parade begins at 10:45 a.m., followed by a ceremony at 11 a.m. at North Webster Cemetery on Monday, May 27. At noon, the American Legion will be raising the flag to full staff.

Remembrance ceremonies will take place at the following cemeteries: 9 a.m. at Thorn, 9:30 a.m. at Salem, 10 a.m. at Mock, and 10:30 a.m. at the American Legion Post No. 253.
Pierceton

The American Legion will host a Memorial Day parade at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27. It will start at the fire station, making its way to Brower Park next to the railroad tracks, where they will have a program. A carry-in dinner is at the Legion after the ceremony.
Silver Lake

A veteran’s ceremony, sponsored by Silver Lake Lions Club, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Syracuse

A parade will start at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 27; line up starts at noon. A ceremony will be after the parade at Syracuse Cemetery. A free meal will be provided at the American Legion for veterans and spouses after the ceremony.
Warsaw
- A Memorial Day ceremony, including a 21 gun salute and a special World War II fly-over by the Hooligan Flight Team, will take place at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 26, as a part of the Northern Indiana Lakes Festival held at Center Lake Park.
- The annual Memorial Day services, conducted by John C. Peterson American Legion Post No. 49 and James W. Sittler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1126, will take place at 10:55 a.m. Monday, May 27, at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. There will be an address, followed by a roll call of deceased veterans.
