WARSAW 15, CONCORD 3
Liam Patton drove in four runs on three hits to lead a Warsaw hit parade in a win over Concord on Tuesday.
The Tigers got off to a fast start in the first inning, when Matt Shoemaker and Joey Springer both singled in runs. They would add another run in the second when Josh Ehrlinger scored on a passed ball. In the fourth inning, Ehrlinger and Lukas Maier would walk and then score courtesy of a three-run home run from Patton to make the score 6-0.
Concord would answer with three runs in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 6-3, but the Tigers would answer back with nine runs in the top of the seventh inning. Ian Glogovsky, Shoemaker, Jacob Hutcherson, Ehrlinger, Patton and Glogovsky each drove in runs during the inning.
Glogovsky was the winning pitcher for the Tigers. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out three. Hutcherson threw one inning in relief in the bottom of the seventh.
Noah Burgh started the game for Warsaw. He allowed two hits and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one.
The Tigers are in action again Wednesday when they travel to Elkhart to take on Memorial. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
NORTHWOOD 5, PLYMOUTH 4
The Panthers bounced back from a tough loss at Elkhart Memorial Friday with a come-from-behind win over Plymouth Tuesday night. Trailing 4-2 headed into the bottom of the seventh, NorthWood plated three runs in its last chance to rally to the win.
Jack Wysong finished 3-for-4 at the plate, while Matt Dutkowski was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Jaden Miller, Trey Allman, Sergio Lira Ayala and Josh Stratford also drove in runs for Wood.
Dutkowski got the pitching win, giving up just six hits and no walks for one earned run in a complete game on the hill. He struck out eight on the way to the win.
The Panthers improve to 15-6 overall and 9-4 in NLC play. They play Goshen Wednesday at 5 p.m.
