Donna Louise Nicolai
Donna Louise (Sheline) Nicolai, 64, passed from this earthly life into her heavenly life with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.
She was born Nov. 11, 1954, at Elkhart General Hospital to Donald and Carolyn (Saggars) Sheline.
On May 7, 1978, she married Lowell Nicolai. They later divorced and she remained single until she met Donald Black. They were partners in life for nearly 21 years.
She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1973 where she was active in music and band, also playing in the Elkhart Symphony. Upon completion of high school, she attended Anderson University and finished her degree at Goshen College in 1977.
She worked in the accounting department at New Paris Creamery and stayed through various owners until the closing of the dairy. She then worked for the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department as their bookkeeper until her passing.
She was a very kind and loving person and also loved animals of all kinds. She enjoyed living on the lake and boating.
Surviving are her parents, Donald and Carolyn Sheline, Goshen; brother, Tom (Janie) Sheline, Millersburg; her best friend and partner, Don Black, Warsaw; and nephew Garrett (Juanita) Sheline, Middlebury and their children, Jensen and Griffen.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen and from 9-10 a.m., Wednesday, May 15, prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Bontreger and Rev. David Henry, Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse will officiate.
Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
