Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
11:06 a.m. Friday, May 10, West CR 200S, west of South CR 600W, Mentone. Driver: Caleb B. Treiber, 32, South CR 900W, Mentone. Treiber told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on CR 200N when he fell asleep, causing his vehicle to leave the left side of the roadway, travel up a rise in the road and flip over on its top. Treiber declined medical treatment, but was still inspected by emergency medical personnel at the scene before being released. Damage up to $10,000.
6:57 a.m. Friday, May 10, East Old Road 30, east of North CR 300E, Warsaw. Driver: Joshua K. Graham, 23, CR 500W, Columbia City. Graham told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on Old Road 30 and that he was approaching traffic that had begun to slow. He said he had been experiencing brake troubles and in trying to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him, he lost control, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and come to rest on the driver’s side. Damage up to $2,500.
3:25 p.m. Thursday, May 9, South SR 13, north of East Shoop Road, Pierceton. Driver: Michelle B. Linton, 31, West McClure Drive, Silver Lake. Linton said she was driving her vehicle northbound on SR 13 when a deer ran into the side of her vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:17 p.m. Friday, May 10, East Center Street and South Wood Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Madyson D. Stanley, 18, South CR 550W, Warsaw; Elizabeth K. Blaker, 30, East Market Street, Warsaw. Stanley told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on East Center Street, approaching the intersection with Wood Street. She said traffic in front of her stopped suddenly and that she was unable to stop her vehicle in time before it collided with the rear of the vehicle driven by Blaker. Damage up to $1,000.
10:53 a.m. Friday, May 10, US 30 and Orthopedic Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Josephine Koontz, 76, North Main Street, Sidney; Kasondra S. Shaw, 36, Cabrillo Court, Fort Wayne. A witness told police that Koontz was driving her vehicle westbound on US 30 and ran the red light, causing her vehicle to collide with the vehicle driven by Shaw. Koontz, along with two minor passengers in Shaw’s car, all complained of pain, but no one was transported to the hospital. Damage up to $50,000.
