Tigers Take Two
ELKHART – Warsaw pulled a double on Thursday, winning a pair of Northern Lakes Conference golf duals.
The Tigers carded a fine round of 160 to run away from host Concord’s 177 and Northridge’s 183.
Chase Byron played the course like a pro, or at least a seasoned veteran, shooting a one-over 37 to lead the Tigers. His round was even par except for a single bogey on the fourth hole.
Cal Hoskins started three over after five, but would birdie two of his final three holes to finish at 39. Tucker Carlile came in at 41, Zach LaLonde had a 43 and Seth Hildebrand had a 46 to round out Warsaw’s efforts.
Concord couldn’t find the right combination to keep pace with Warsaw, with Travis Hermon’s 42 the top Minuteman score. Jake Eakins had a 43, followed by two 46s from Dylan Prough and Tim Linder.
Northridge’s Blake Neely shot a 40, but scores dropped to 46 from Tyler Frazier, 47 from Landon Caword and 50 from Marcus Keck.
Warsaw moves to 3-0 in the NLC and had the Culver Academy Invite this Saturday before jumping back into the NLC round robin Tuesday at Maplecrest against Goshen and Wawasee.
