Warsaw Man Arrested For Domestic Battery
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly battering a female subject.
Ryan Joshua McKinney, 24, 617 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On April 11, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a report of domestic battery at a residence. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer spoke with a female subject sitting outside.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the female said a male subject, identified as McKinney, was in a verbal argument with her when McKinney threw the female down and battered her in front of a minor.
After the minor was removed from the residence by another female, McKinney began throwing and breaking items. He then allegedly beat the female and threw her around, causing her head to hit a wall. McKinney then grabbed the female’s throat while she was on the ground.
McKinney told officers that he threw the female to the ground and held her by the throat out of self-defense.
He has already been arrested and released on a $1,000 cash bond. McKinney has an initial hearing set for 1 p.m. May 20, in Kosciusko County Superior Court 2.
