WINONA LAKE – Sydney Abbott was honored on Wednesday for Grace’s women’s golf team when she was named to the All-Crossroads League Team.
Abbott was voted to the team by the Crossroads League coaches as one of the best 11 golfers in the conference.
She becomes the second player in Grace’s four-year history to be named All-League, following Anna Marshall last season.
“Sydney is an outstanding player who leads by example. She’s always among the first to arrive and last to leave practice,” said Grace head coach Denny Duncan. “She shows up in the big moments as demonstrated by her consistent play at our conference tournament where she shot 80-80-80 over three rounds. She can also play with the very best as exemplified by her low round of 70 in the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational.”
Abbott helped lead the Lady Lancers’ team to the NCCAA National Championships for the first time in program history during the fall. Grace placed sixth and was led by Abbott’s scorecard of 83-84-83. She was a two-time NCCAA National Golfer of the Week during the year.
