Gastroenterologist James Harig Joins KCH Medical Staff
WARSAW — Gastroenterologist James Harig, MD, has joined the medical staff at Kosciusko Community Hospital. This specialist with Lutheran Health Physicians will begin seeing patients May 20 in the Beyer Building, 1205 Provident Drive, Warsaw.
Dr. Harig identifies and treats disorders related to the digestive system using the latest diagnostic techniques. He has over 30 years of experience providing advanced care for patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal, biliary and liver disorders. Before joining the Lutheran Health Physicians team, Dr. Harig assisted patients in northwestern Indiana and the Chicagoland area.
He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame before receiving his medical degree from Loyola University’s Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill. Dr. Harig remained with Loyola University Medical Center to complete an internal medicine residence and serve as a postdoctoral research fellow. He later completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He also completed a master’s degree in physiology from Loyola University Chicago.
Board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Harig is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Motility Society, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Physician Executives. He has been involved in numerous publications covering a variety of gastroenterology-related topics.
