Tippecanoe Valley Student Named D.A.R. Good Citizen Essay Winner
ROCHESTER — Shayleigh Shriver, a senior at Tippecanoe Valley High School, is the winner of the Agnes Pruyn Chapman Chapter of the DAR Good Citizens Essay Contest. Shriver will be presented with a $100 scholarship from the DAR at the school’s awards program in May.
Shriver’s submission was in response to the question: “What New Challenges Will America Face as We Move Forward Into the Future?” Even more exciting, Shriver’s submission was selected at the state level and will be presented at the annual State Meeting in May.
Shriver and her parents, Janie and Jeff, live in Rochester. In addition to her excellent grades, Shriver is involved in a number of activities, including but not limited to a member of the National Honor Society and chapter secretary; student body president; member of Future Farmers of America and chapter secretary; founding member of the Valley Girls of Grace; and team captain of the Varsity Volleyball team.
Shriver plans to attend Purdue in the fall and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.
