Etna Green Man Arrested For Residential Entry
WINONA LAKE — An Etna Green man was arrested after allegedly entering a residence while under the influence of drugs.
William Garrett Schultz, 27, 9205 W. CR 125N, Etna Green, is being charged with residential entry, a level 6 felony.
On April 9, an officer with the Winona Lake Police Department responded to a report of an unwanted subject at a residence. When the officer arrived at the scene, the homeowner said he and his wife heard someone walking in their kitchen.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the homeowner entered the kitchen and saw a male subject, later identified as Schultz, standing in the kitchen. The homeowner retrieved a firearm and ordered Schultz to sit in a chair until police arrived.
Schultz told the officer that the reason for his strange behavior throughout the incident was due to recently smoking marijuana and methamphetamine.
He has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance. Schultz has an initial hearing scheduled for 1 p.m. May 9, in Kosciusko Superior Court 3.
