Silver Lake Man Faces Drug-Related Charges After Traffic Stop
SILVER LAKE — A Silver Lake man was arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop.
Trey Michael Burbank, 25, 11144 S. County Farm Road, Silver Lake, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on April 3, an officer with the Winona Lake Police Department observed a vehicle fail to use a proper turn signal at the intersection of South Bronson Street and East Winona Avenue.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified all four occupants of the vehicle, with Burbank being identified as one of two back seat passengers. The other back seat passenger was reportedly a minor.
After obtaining consent from the driver to search the vehicle, police removed the occupants of the vehicle. In the area where Burbank had been sitting, police reported finding a cigarette box containing a glass smoking device with residue and a cigarette box that contained a white crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Burbank was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail April 3 on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
