Miriam A. Cripe
Miriam A. Cripe, 97, Nappanee, died at 7:53 a.m., Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Goshen Hospital. She was born May 28, 1921, in Nappanee to Russell and Beulah (Shaum) Stahly.
She was a graduate of Nappanee High School. She lived her lifetime in this area. On Sept. 1, 1946, she married Robert Cripe in Goshen. He preceded her in death July 21, 1996. She had worked as a bookkeeper at Farm Bureau, Home Lumber and Farmwald Lumber. She attended Grace Point Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her cat and watching and feeding birds. She was a genuine caring and honest woman and loved by her family.
Surviving are her children: Randy (Valerie) Cripe, Leanne (Rex) Heckaman, both of Nappanee; grandchildren: Jeff (Katja) Stucky, Laurie (David) Miller; step-grandchildren, Cody (Alicia) Hunter, Chase Hunter, Brandie(Barry) Lamb, Chad (Sarah) Heckaman, Derrick Kreider, Don Kreider, Val Tucker; two great-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; and a former son-in-law, Garry Miller, Milford. She also had step-siblings, Treva Rodgers, Sara VanWormer, Herbert Keck, Jim Eyer, Gary Eyer, James Kaufman, and Bill Eyers. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ron Kreider; sister, Marilyn Schrock; and brother, Devon Stahly.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 25, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and for one hour prior to the 11 a.m., Funeral Service, Friday, April 26, at Grace Point Presbyterian Church. Rev. Tom Nelson will officiate and burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
