Former Bruin Taking Over At Alma Mater
WATERFORD MILLS – Goshen native Daniel Mast has been named varsity boys basketball coach at Bethany Christian High School.
Mast, a 2006 Bethany graduate, was a three-year varsity letterwinner under longtime Bruin basketball coach Jim Buller. Since then Mast has coached at various levels at six different schools across three states, most recently serving as a varsity assistant at Goshen High School.
In making the announcement, Bethany athletic director Gary Chupp says, “Daniel has a true passion for teaching the game of basketball, and using that platform to invest in the lives of young people. He has coached in some outstanding high school programs, and that experience has prepared him to take over our program. I am excited for the future of Bethany basketball under Daniel’s leadership.”
Mast says, “I am excited to return to the Bethany community as the head coach for the boys basketball program. I am thankful to the administration at Bethany for believing in me, my wife for supporting me, and the many coaches who have taught me. I hope to carry on the tradition of inspiring young athletes with a love for the game of basketball.”
