One Injured In CR 300 E. Crash
MILFORD — Shortly after 1:30 p.m. today, April 10, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Milford Fire Department and Lutheran EMS were dispatched to CR 300 E. south of Defreese Road for a vehicle/pedestrian crash.
James Roder, 33, Warsaw, was walking southbound on the west side of the road with another unidentified male, when he was struck by a 2006 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Nathan Nibert, 32, also of Warsaw.
Nibert told officers his phone rang, he went to answer it and dropped it on the floor of his car. After bending over to pick it up, he realized there were people in the roadway.
Lutheran Air Ambulance was called to med flight Roder to Fort Wayne with chest injuries. Damage estimated to Nibert’s vehicle is approximately $3,000.
Assisting at the scene were Milford and Syracuse police departments. This incident remains under investigation.
