Triton Emerges With Two Wins At Argos
ARGOS – After a rough pair of games to open the week, Triton’s softball program turned things around Saturday. In a doubleheader at Argos, Triton scored 30 total runs in two wins, the second a come-from-behind win.
In game one, Triton crushed Argos 22-4. In what was just a four-run lead in the sixth inning, Triton erupted for five runs in the sixth and hung nine in the seventh to pull away.
Abbey Viers had a huge opening game, smacking four hits, falling just a homer short of the cycle with a single, two doubles and a triple. Viers added four runs scored and five RBIs. Skyla Wilson added five runs scored and Madeline Doll had two RBIs and four runs scored.
Erin Ogle got the win in the circle, working all seven innings.
In game two, Triton trailed 7-5 heading into the final inning, but used a two-run triple from Jolie Groves to take the lead. Groves and Doll each had three hits in the game while Wilson added a triple and two RBIs.
Ogle got her second win of the day, surrendering 14 hits but limiting the damage after a rough start that had Argos score five runs in the first two innings.
Triton (2-2) returns to work Tuesday at home against Plymouth.
