Stanley R. “Stan” Insley, 78, Syracuse, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Greencroft Rehab in Goshen. He was born on Feb. 11, 1941, in Warsaw, to Robert G. “Bob” and Ethel Mae (Rowe) Insley.
He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1959 from Syracuse High School. He retired in Nov. 2008 as a press operator at Parker Hannifin Corp. (formerly Goshen Rubber Co.) in Goshen, after 43 years. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Oswego where he formerly served as Assistant Head Usher and Assistant Sound and Video Operator, Syracuse Alumni Association, and Kosciusko County Historical Society. He was a former member of the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals (Syracuse division).
He is survived by his sister: Jean Insley, Syracuse; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Greg Harden officiating. Burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
