James Cheesman, 77, Rochester, passed away at 2:57 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2019, at his residence.
On May 26, 1941, he was born in Lafayette to G. Wesley and Chloris J. Gochenour Cheesman. Growing up, he shared his childhood with three sisters and a brother.
He and Sharon Sue Campbell were married on April 1, 1960.
Survivors include his wife: Sharon; three daughters: Traci Cheesman, Logansport; Melinda (Jim) Straeter, Rochester; Lori (Bruce) Brown, Fort Wayne; three grandchildren: Hillary (Kristopher) Daulton; Colin (Nicole) Brown; and Derek Brown; and expecting the first great- grandson in July; two sisters: Shari Puckett Whitacre (husband John), Bandera, Tex.; and Nita (Ron) Baker, Rochester; a brother: Larry Cheesman, Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister: Judy Green.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. A celebration of life ceremony will immediately follow visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pastor Todd Wilson will officiate. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
