Pamela K. Gearhart, 64, Silver Lake, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
She was born Sept. 10, 1954, at Rochester, to John C. and Loreen A. (Landis) Hoover. Graduating from Manchester High School in 1972, later that year Dec. 16, 1972, she married Robert “Bob” Gearhart. He survives at Silver Lake. Also surviving are her father, John Hoover, Warsaw; a son, Shawn Gearhart, Indianapolis; a daughter, Kimberly Zellers, Warsaw; a brother, Robert (Jacqueline) Hoover, Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister, Gina (Barry) Parker, Warsaw; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Gearhart was a custodian for Manchester Community Schools for 29 years until illness forced her retirement on Dec. 28, 2018. Along with being an avid gardener and reader, she enjoyed trail bike riding and hiking. She was a member of Rails to Trails. Loving her children and grandchildren, she was the planner of family trips, a hard and dedicated worker, and an inspiration to others. She was a huge help to her husband.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Friends and family may call from 3-7 p.m., Friday, March 29, at McKee Mortuary. Pastor Jeff Pfeifer will officiate the service and burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.
