Lakeland Christian Academy To Hold 11th Annual Food Drive
WINONA LAKE — Lakeland Christian Academy will hold its eleventh annual community-wide food drive for Combined Community Services from March 25 to 29.
Thanks to generous food donations from the community, LCA has collected over 114,000 pounds of food for people in need in Kosciusko County over the past decade.
This year the entire student body of Lakeland and their staff will be distributing 5,000 grocery bags with bright colored information fliers about the food drive on doorsteps throughout the community. It is their hope and prayer that community members will then fill these bags with non-perishable food items over the next four days.
The students will then return to these same homes on Friday, March 29, to collect the food items. Residents may place food items in boxes or bags and leave them at the end of their driveway or in a visible place. Please leave food out by 8 a.m. If a home is missed, please call (574) 267-7265 after 2 p.m. and someone will come out and pick up the donation.
After all the food is collected, it will be sorted and delivered to CCS and stocked in the client-choice food pantry. Suggested non-perishable food items include peanut butter, jelly, mac and cheese, canned tuna in water, canned chicken in water, oatmeal, cereal, spaghetti sauce, noodles, ramen noodles, baking mixes, healthy foods and gluten-free products.
