Upcoming Events At North Webster Community Public Library
NORTH WEBSTER — If you find yourself in a reading rut, why not participate in the Voyager Book Club? It meets at 10 a.m. Monday, March 25, at the North Webster Community Public Library. This book club challenges you to explore a variety of genres while letting you choose the book you want to read within each month’s selected genre. At Monday’s meeting, the group will be discussing books by new authors. Voyager Book Club meets on the fourth Monday each month. Next month, the group will be reading and discussing inspirational books.
Later that afternoon, at 1:30 p.m., watch a free movie in the Adult Services Department where a 1934 historic drama will be shown about a young Puritan woman caught in adultery and forced to wear a red letter. Bring snacks to munch and enjoy the show.
Share your favorite food at Revolving Recipe Round-Up at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26. This group meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday, focusing on a different type of food each month. At Tuesday’s gathering, everyone is asked to prepare and bring their favorite food to sample and share, along with the recipe. With such a savory variety of dishes, you may discover a new favorite.
Work off those extra calories at Let’s Move held at 6 p.m. every Thursday. This informal fitness class uses dancing as a form of exercise. It is free and suitable for adults of all ages and fitness levels.
Another free movie will be held in the Youth Department at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 28. Showing is a 2018 family adventure about two kids trying to protect their dolphin friend and the beach from bad guys threatening to destroy his home. The movie is rated G and runs 100 minutes. Bring your own drinks and enjoy the free popcorn.
There are also thousands of movies for adults and children available in the library’s DVD section. Patrons with an Evergreen library card can check out up to 10 movies at a time for one week. The collection includes new releases as well as timeless classics.
