WARSAW — The official police report from the vehicle accident that resulted in one person being airlifted on Monday, March 18, has been released.

Around 1:15 p.m. emergency responders were dispatched to an accident at South SR 15, north of West CR 200S, Warsaw.

Hailey N. Stineback, 21, North Third Street, Pierceton; was traveling south on SR 15 when she moved into the northbound lane to pass a vehicle driven by Daniel M. Christophel, 54, East Lincoln Street, Nappanee. However, Stineback said a northbound car was coming toward her, causing her to move back into the southbound lane. When she did this, her vehicle struck Christophel’s. This caused Stineback’s vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree.

Stineback complained of shoulder and upper arm pain due to the accident and was transported by medical helicopter for treatment.

Damages from the accident were estimated at up to $50,000.
