WARSAW — A Pierceton woman was arrested after stealing a firearm from a residence.
Jessica Rae Manns, 23, 8280 E. US 30, No. 45, Pierceton, is being charged with theft, a level 6 felony.
On March 14, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a suspicious person. A Warsaw Street Department employee informed central dispatch that a female had placed an AK-47 style rifle inside of a bush in an alley.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer located the female, later identified as Manns. She told the officer she had been in contact with Hannah Lynn Rinehart Davis, Warsaw, regarding the firearm. Manns said she stole the firearm from a residence under the female’s direction and that she believed the firearm was owned by the female’s father.
Officers located the rifle in the bushes next to the garage behind the female’s father’s residence. Officers also spoke with the father, who said an AK-47 rifle, multiple AK-47 clips and a Smith and Wesson revolver were stolen from his residence.
Manns was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on March 14, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
Davis was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on March 15, on a preliminary charge of burglary. Her court documents are not yet available.
