Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
5:21 a.m. Friday, March 15, North SR 19, south of West CR 1350N, Nappanee. Driver: Kayla A. Coots, 29, Walnut Street, Wabash. Coots was traveling north on SR 19 when she applied the brakes on her vehicle. However, this caused her vehicle to pull to the right and drop off the side of the roadway, striking a Nipsco utility pole. Coots complained of neck and shoulder pain but refused EMS and advised she would go to the hospital at a later time for treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
5:25 p.m. Thursday, March 14, South SR 15, south of West CR 350S, Warsaw. Drivers: Jessica L. Debrota, 30, Nuthatch Drive, Warsaw; and Kelsey I. Wadkins, 28, West Shutt Avenue, Silver Lake. Debrota was traveling north on SR 15 when she rear-ended Wadkins’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
3:31 p.m. Thursday, March 14, East CR 200N, near North CR 100E, Warsaw. Drivers: Heather N. Rutledge, 40, Clinic Court, Warsaw; and Wesley D. Soliday, 16, Brubaker Street, Warsaw. Rutledge was sitting at a four-way intersection and looked both ways before proceeding through the intersection. Soliday said he was facing eastbound at the four-way intersection and that he had been at the intersection longer than Rutledge and that he let the vehicle in front of Rutledge proceed before he proceeded through the intersection. Rutledge’s vehicle struck Soliday’s. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:09 a.m. Friday, March 15, South Maple Avenue, north of East Smith Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Carol R. Volkers, 70, Fairlane Drive, Warsaw; and Nicholas D. Spangle, 31, South Maple Avenue, Warsaw. Volkers was making a left turn from Smith Street onto Maple Avenue when she struck Spangle’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
5:39 p.m. Thursday, March 14, East Island View Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Scott A. Moody. 45, East Island View Drive, Warsaw. Moody told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on East Island View Drive when he must have blacked out. He said when he regained consciousness, his vehicle had come to rest against a house. Moody was cited for driving with a suspended license. Damage up to $50,000.
