Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
10:32 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, East CR 600S, east of South CR 400E, Warsaw. Driver: Davanna M. Schmucker, 20, North Barbee Road, Warsaw. Schmucker told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on CR 600S when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
9:14 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, East US 30, west of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Brittany S. Hanners, 28, South Silverwood Lane, Goshen. Hanners told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on US 30 when a small deer entered the roadway. She said when she swerved her vehicle to avoid a collision with the deer the vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees. Damage up to $10,000.
4:06 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, North CR 650W, north of CR 100N, Atwood. Drivers: James G. Bullington, 46, South Walnut Street, Mentone; Pamela J. Wright, 57, East CR 575N, Leesburg. Bullington told police he was backing his vehicle out of a driveway and that his vehicle collided with the vehicle driven by Wright. Damage up to $5,000.
3:23 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, East Old Road 30, east of North SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Nathan Swartzentruber, 18, West CR 500S, Millersburg. Swartzentruber told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on Old Road 30 when a turkey entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the turkey with his vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:28 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, South Indiana Street, north of East Prairie Street, Warsaw. Driver: Karen L. Olds, 49, West CR 350N, Etna Green. Olds stated she was driving north on South Indiana Street and another vehicle was traveling south. Olds advised she had to get over to let the vehicle go past, resulting in Olds’ vehicle striking a parked, unoccupied vehicle on the side of the road. Damage up to $5,000.
3:01 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Elizabeth R. Cox, 19, 11th Street, Winona Lake. Cox stated she was attempting to back out of a parking space when her vehicle struck the driver’s side of a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
