KCH Offers New High-Field Open MRI System
WARSAW — Diagnostic imaging at Kosciusko Community Hospital now includes greater options for MRI, also known as magnetic resonance imaging. A new high-field, open MRI system is available at the Beyer Building, which is located at 1205 Provident Drive in Warsaw.
“The new technology combines unparalleled comfort for patients with powerful technology and an ultra-fast workstation to make exams as quick and smooth as possible,” said radiologist Jon Berger, MD, medical director of imaging services at KCH. “The system’s power is further boosted by an array of body part specific, optimized receiver coils that allow advanced imaging applications ranging from vascular to orthopedic to women’s health.”
The new open MRI system has an accommodating design that reassures patients, as well as a broad range of clinical capabilities and features to meet the demand of today’s diagnostic imaging professionals.
Emphasis has been placed on making patients comfortable during their exam. Patients have a 270° unobstructed view, which minimizes anxiety and claustrophobia and maximizes a more pleasant environment. This also allows the patient to have a loved one or friend visible during the exam for further reassurance.
