Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
6:02 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, South SR 19 and CR 200S, near Mentone. Drivers: Haley M. Hedington, 18, 19B Road, Tippecanoe; John A. Smurdon, 46, East 34th Street, Lake Station. Hedington was crossing the highway on 200S when her vehicle struck the truck that was carrying several vehicles in a trailer. Smurdon said he had the right of way and locked up the brakes in an attempt to stop. Hedington complained of pain to her stomach, knee and hip. A family member took her to a hospital. Damage: Up to $50,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
4:48 p.m. Friday, March 8, In an alley near South West Street, north of West Emeline Street, Milford. Drivers: Emile Emmons, 86, South West Street, Milford; Jean A. Nelson, 73, East Market Street, Warsaw. Emmons was backing out of a driveway and did not see the other vehicle in the alley and struck it. Damage: Up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:58 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, intersection of West Market Street and South Washington Street, Warsaw. Drivers: George W. Craft, 72, South Washington Street, Warsaw; Stacey R. Stanley, 42, South CR 250W, Warsaw. Craft said he was northbound on South Washington at the intersection. He did not see any cross traffic and pulled into the intersection and was struck by the other vehicle. Damage: Up to $10,000.
6:46 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, intersection of North SR 15 and West Jefferson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: John P. West, 40, North Sycamore Street, North Manchester; Jamie J. West, 40, North Sycamore Street, North Manchester. Both vehicles were traveling south on SR 15 when a tire from John West’s vehicle came off, bounced into the northbound lane, struck a vehicle and bounced back into the southbound lane and struck the hood and windshield of Jamie West’s vehicle. Damage: Up to $2,500.
