Warsaw Man Arrested For Breaking Into Residence To Deal Meth
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a residence to deal methamphetamine.
Jonathan Carlie Shepherd, 29, 3451 E. Pleasant Grove Drive, Warsaw, is being charged with dealing in methamphetamine, a level 5 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; residential entry, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On March 5, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a report of an unwanted subject attempting to sell methamphetamine at a residence.
The female homeowner said she was in the shower when she heard her entry door being opened. She got dressed and walked out into the living room as a male subject she did not know entered the residence. The male, later identified as Shepherd, told her he was there to sell methamphetamine.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers arrived on the scene and saw Shepherd sitting on a couch with a plate on his lap and a piece of folded foil on the plate. Shepherd told the officers “it’s just sugar.” Officers took possession of the plate and observed a small amount of a white crystal substance testing positive for methamphetamine. Officers also found a plastic bag containing methamphetamine.
Shepherd told officers that he was at the residence because he heard it was a good place to sell narcotics.
He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on March 5, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
