Lost Ring Found, Returned 60 Years Later
THOMSON, GA. — A ring that was lost nearly 60 years ago in Georgia has been found.
Now, that long lost ring is finally making its way back to its original owner.
Anne Caldwell from Georgia, who found the ring, says at first she didn’t realize just how special this “1960’s gold class ring” was.
But after tracking down its owner on the internet, she found out that one man has been looking for it for 58 years!
The problem was getting it to 80-year-old Coy Sullivan, who lives in Oklahoma, thousands of miles away.
“I found it in a drawer that I was going to be cleaning out,” explained Caldwell. “Oh, I just felt so happy that you know he was going to get it back.”
While now one is quite sure how Coy lost that ring, Anne says that her mother-in-law worked at a laundromat in Oklahoma. It was the same laundromat that Coy used.
He thinks maybe he left it in his pocket and somehow Anne’s mother-in-law got it.
And when Anne moved to Georgia, that’s how she found the ring.
