Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
8:36 a.m. Thursday, March 7, South SR 25 and West CR 200S, Warsaw. Drivers: Wilma J. Davis, 73, West Lakeview Park Drive, Warsaw; Michael A. McGlennen, 69, South SR 25, Mentone. McGlennen told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 25 and that Davis’ vehicle was stopped at the intersection before it pulled into the intersection and struck his vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
8:13 a.m. Thursday, March 7, West CR 250S, Warsaw. Driver: Kristopher C. Hawkins, 32, West CR 250S, Warsaw. Hawkins was driving his vehicle on private property and told the owner of a parked vehicle that he was looking at his radio when his vehicle struck the parked vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
6:25 a.m. Thursday, March 7, South SR 15, south of West CR 700S, Claypool. Driver: Zane P. Lemon, 24, West South Street, Mexico. Lemon told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
6:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, South Packerton Road, south of East CR 400S, Warsaw. Driver: Nathan J. Berry, 35, North CR 400E, Warsaw. Berry told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on South Packerton Road and took his eyes off the road, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a small line of trees. Berry suffered injuries to the face and was transported by ambulance to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $10,000.
3:32 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, North CR 300E, north of East CR 1300N, Syracuse. Driver: Zachary W. Downhour, 33, EMS T25 Lane, Leesburg. Downhour told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on CR 300E when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail. Damage up to $2,500.
1:21 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, North SR 13, south of East CR 1120N, Syracuse. Driver: Chad A. Wardlow, 35, West Himes Street, North Webster. Wardlow told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on SR 13 and was hauling plywood on a trailer. He said he heard a loud pop and that he then lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and struck some trees. Police reported that Wardlow had an active warrant and arrested him. Damage up to $5,000.
12:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, South County Farm Road, north of CR 700S, Claypool. Driver: Derek M. Kaser, 26, Maplewood Lane, Rochester. Kaser told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on County Farm Road and that he was hauling a vehicle on a trailer when the trailer came loose and left the roadway, striking two utility pole guide wires and a wooden fence. Kaser told police he did not have a valid license plate and that he was not insured. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2621 E. Jefferson St., Warsaw. Driver: Parthenia A. Mosier, 34, South Country Club Road, Warsaw. Mosier was backing her vehicle from a parking space when she struck a light pole’s concrete base. Damage up to $2,500.
2:58 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, East Winona Avenue, near South Bronson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Debra S. Parker, 65, West CR 525S, Claypool; and Sabrina M. Hall, 32, East Center Street 8C, Bourbon. Parker was traveling east on East Winona Avenue when she turned left in front of Hall’s vehicle. Hall complained of neck pain due to the accident. Damage up to $2,500.
