Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
5:05 a.m. Monday, March 4, North CR 100E, north of East CR 350N, Warsaw. Driver: Anna Hernandez, 31, North CR 200W, Warsaw. Hernandez was traveling south on CR 100E when her vehicle slid off the roadway, striking a tree. Damage up to $1,000.
6:38 a.m. Sunday, March 3, South SR 13, north of East SR 14, Sidney. Driver: Elizabeth G. Hardy, 20, EMS T44 Lane, Leesburg. Hardy was traveling south on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
8:03 p.m. Saturday, March 2, East CR 1000N, near North SR 13, Syracuse. Driver: Kellie J. Gillenwater, 58, East CR 350N, Pierceton. Gillenwater was on SR 13 when her vehicle went through a yard and came to rest in an embankment. Damage up to $2,500.
5:17 a.m. Saturday, March 2, North CR 100E, south of East CR 300N, Warsaw. Driver: Jahlyn G. Smith, 25, Gilliam Avenue, Warsaw. Smith was traveling south on North CR 100E when multiple squirrels entered his driving lane. This caused Smith to crash into a Nipsco utility pole. After the crash, his vehicle rolled over. Smith sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
10:43 p.m. Friday, March 1, South County Farm Road, south of West Hoppus Road, Warsaw. Driver: Trenton X. Hurd, 18, Falcon Drive, Warsaw. Hurd was traveling north on South County Farm Road when an animal crossed the roadway. This caused Hurd’s vehicle to leave the roadway and down into a ditch, colliding with several small trees and a large rock. Hurd complained of neck and chest pain was checked by EMS on scene. Damage up to $10,000.
10:27 p.m. Friday, March 1, East Armstrong Road, east of North CR 450E, Leesburg. Drivers: Austin S. Wood, 21, Ulrich Drive, Milford; and Sarah J. Lecount, 38, East Armstrong Road, Leesburg. Wood was traveling east on Armstrong Road when he struck Lecount’s vehicle. Wood’s vehicle then left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Wood was checked by medics but refused medical attention at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
7:13 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2801 W. Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Anthony A. Boxley, 39, Sophie Lane, Warsaw; and Patrick J. Cowan, 29, Abbey Drive 8, Fort Wayne. Boxley was traveling north on a private drive when he looked down briefly and saw that Cowan’s vehicle was stopped in front of him. No injuries were reported by either driver. Boxley’s vehicle rear-ended Cowan’s. Damage up to $25,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
2:48 p.m. Friday, March 1, 1 Warrior Path, Syracuse. Driver: Hallie M. Clayton, 17, East LaPoint Drive, Milford. Clayton was turning into a parking lot when she struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:53 a.m. Monday, March 4, Center Street, south of North Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Andrea K. Friend, 33, Barrington Place, Warsaw; and William E. Smith, 73, West CR 500N, Warsaw. Friend was traveling west on Center Street when she struck Smith’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
7:48 a.m. Monday, March 4, East Center Street, near Argonne Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Larissa R. Phillips, 32, North Dovewood Trail, Warsaw; and Lindsay A. Castro, 35, South CR 325E, Warsaw. Phillips was traveling east on East Center Street when she struck the driver’s side of Castro’s vehicle. Phillips complained of chest pain but refused medical treatment on scene. Castro complained of a headache as a result of the accident, but refused medical treatment on scene. Damage up to $10,000.
