Lou Ella Martinez
Lou Ella Martinez, 91, Warsaw, passed away at 4:31 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, in her residence. She was born Oct. 1, 1927, in Saginaw, Mich. to Nancy (Francis) Peters.
She lived most of her life in Warsaw. During her life she worked for Sunmetal and in 1993 she retired from Zimmer as a production worker. She was a member of Christ’s Covenant Church, Winona Lake. She was also a proud member of the Saginaw-Chippewa Indian Tribe, Mt. Pleasant, Mich. She was an avid fan of WWE Wrestling and was also a fan of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bulls, especially Michael Jordan. She loved reading her Bible and had read it from cover to cover 23 times.
She loved her family deeply and cherished the time spent together; playing board games with the grandchildren was always a favorite activity.
She is survived by her children; Vicki Brown of Warsaw, Robert Rodriguez of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; Richard Rodriguez of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; Michael (spouse Belle) Zygmunt of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; grandchildren; Larry (spouse Amber) Brown of Winona Lake; Nathanial (spouse Makenna) Click of Harlan; Jessica Rodriguez of Warsaw; Ron Rodriguez of Warsaw, Ron Rodriguez Jr., Paul Rodriguez, Traci Andrews, Sara Marvin, Kourtney Rodriguez, Alvin Zygmunt, Elizabeth Smith, Debra Smith, Billy Rodriguez, Carmen Whitfield, and 45 great-grandchildren, locally including; Tyler Brown, Jordan Brown, Alex Brown, Natalie Brown, Zeke Brown, Brandon Bibler, Collin Bibler, Erica Bibler, Alexandria Hernandez, Marcos Rodriguez, Marselo Rodriguez, Katiana Rodriguez, Angelica Rodriguez; nine great-great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a son; Ronald Rodriguez, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27, in Christ’s Covenant Church, Winona Lake. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, in Christ’s Covenant Church, Winona Lake. Pastors Larry McCall and Rod Valentine will officiate. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
